Attention: You have found the home of the Simple Flash Video Wordpress Plugin which is powered by the popular JW FLV Player and Thickbox. Look for a mid June Release date.

Welcome!

What separates this plugin from the rest?

  • Supports ALL variables of the JW FLV Player
  • Allows Videos to be played over the website content
  • Variables are all set in a config.xml file but can be overdid in the post
  • Easy Integration with Simple Stats

This plugin will allow you to easily replicate the look that this website has with floating video.

I am having some issues with the wordpress repository so I am looking at putting up a new version which will hopefully resolve your issue.

Thanks for your fast reply! So, I’m not the only one with this issue? Can you let me know when you will have a new version ( email me)?
    Thanks again Josh

I have all ready emailed you with a version to try . I have not have any other emails or comments about errors and the plugin is functioning correctly for 3 blogs that I run on this server. So there may be an issue with share hosting or something that I am not aware of yet.

Thanks, I will try it and email you back with results

Seems the cause of the error is that I programmed in PHP5. Most hosts of course have PHP4. I will see what I can do in the next few days.

These issues have now been resolved in plugin version 1.2 Please download it there :)

I will be setting up a travel related blog and this is the perfect way to present the videos

This is exactly what I have been looking for - and it works great with the exception of one issue - on my site, I get the Click to Watch link under a box with a red X. If I click to watch, it pops up and plays the video no problem. I’m sure this is something stupid I have done or not done - any direction would be appreciated.

One other question - I am currently using

    [video filename=http://cheree.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/100_2076.mp4 /]

can’t I shorten that to just call if from the server rather than through an http connect? (I’m gonna go play with this now.)

    regards,
    Mike

ok - I got it to use just

    [video filename=/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/100_2076.mp4 /]

Now I have no box with the red X - and no thumbnail either - just the “Click to Watch” link.

  12. On 9/11/2008 at 11:41 Josh Chesarek said:

yes you could shorten it to:

    [video filename=/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/100_2076.mp4 /]

    What version are you using?

    http://cheree.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/100_2076.jpg

    does not exist.

You need to have a .jpg in the same folder with the same name as you .mp4 or .flv

The latest version will allow you to set other images though. A new beta and then release candidate should be out soon!

version 1.5? I just downloaded it this morning - it’s not the beta version though.

  15. On 9/11/2008 at 11:46 Mike said:

    yes - 1.5 it is

    Read my last comment…

    does not exist.

The file is not there hence the Red X but the new version will handle this more gracefully.

ok no problem, I can do that - just figured it was automatic - silly me :-)

thanks for your help!! this is exactly what I have been looking for.

  18. On 9/11/2008 at 13:32 Mike said:

one last question - does the jpg file need to sized properly (i.e. like a thumbnail), or will the plugin make the thumbnail?

  19. On 9/11/2008 at 13:37 Josh Chesarek said:

    needs to be sized properly.

I would like to place it on my blog but on some pages I want video to go right away (index page) and on all others only if they click on it.Is that possible? What should I do?
    Thank you

  21. On 9/23/2008 at 16:05 Josh Chesarek said:

Yes, on the main pages you would do shadowbox=off and auto play=true and they would play automatically without needing to be clicked. The rest would use the default method of being clicked.
